Hey there, I’m excited that you want to learn more about me—so glad to meet you! 😊

I’m Bhavani!, a UX Designer and MDes graduate from Institute of Design, Chicago.

Why Design?

Well, growing up my earliest joy came from creating art, craft, choreographies, events that brought a smile on others and fatefully this joy led me to design.

Over time as a designer, I found myself increasingly drawn to the why behind the pixels—the deeper thinking that shapes every small decision on screen. This curiosity led me to pursue an MDes and fully immerse myself in the world of UX design, where research, design, and strategy intersect to create meaningful connections.

My Explorations - a space where I let my curiosity take a wheel!

Game Design (Full Project Coming Soon)

"Journey Within" is a 2D side-scrolling platformer game where players help Ember, the protagonist, restore balance to her emotions.

The game addresses the need for secondary emotional understanding and resilience. It presents a playful, engaging way to reframe emotions as tools for growth instead of obstacles.

Generative Font

"Hasthagalu" font is a generative font inspired by Asamyutha Hasthas, the single-hand gestures used for storytelling in the South Indian classical dance form, Bharatanatyam. This image showcases a poem I wrote for my mother using the Hasthas font.

Find a downloadable version of the font for you to explore and experiment with.

Wave Function Collapse

An exploration of wave function collapse, a phenomenon in quantum physics, involves the sudden shift from a superposition of states to one definite state. In pixel art, this concept is metaphorically applied, where the "collapse" symbolizes the sudden formation of a clear image from a chaotic arrangement of pixels.
I experimented with designing various pixel states to collapse and emerge into a pixel sky to aquatic transition art.
